Welcome to the web site of the 16th International Conference on Clouds and Precipitation, ICCP-2012.

The conference is organized every 4 years by the International Commission on Clouds and Precipitation (http://www.iccp-iamas.org), which is part of the International Association of Meteorology and Atmospheric Sciences (IAMAS, http://www.iamas.org). The goal of the conference is to provide a venue for the presentation of scientific research in the area of clouds and precipitation and to encourage the exchange of ideas within the international community.

News

The deadline for the extended abstracts is prolonged by one week, i.e. till Tuesday 22nd of May 2012. - Also: Be aware of the end of the early bird registration, which will not be prolonged and which will end on May 31st 2012, so go and register.

You can now find the program for the ICCP-2012 at http://iccp2012.tropos.de/iccp_program.html. The registration is open and can be reached via http://iccp2012.tropos.de/iccp_registration.html. Extended abstracts can be submitted (see http://iccp2012.tropos.de/iccp_ext_abstracts.html), and much additional information now can be found on our different webpages.

WMO Cloud Modeling Workshop

It has been quite a long tradition to have a cloud modeling workshop prior to the ICCP conference. This will also be done in 2012, with the workshop taking place in Warsaw, Poland, July 23-27, 2012. The workshop webpage is located at: http://www.atmos.washington.edu/~andreasm/workshop2012/index.html.

The ICCP 2012 scientific program

Basic cloud and precipitation physics
Warm boundary layer clouds
Convective clouds (including cloud electrification)
Mixed phase clouds (including Arctic stratus, mid-level clouds)
Cirrus clouds
Orographic clouds
Mesoscale cloud systems (including severe storms)
Aerosol-cloud-precipitation-interactions
Clouds and climate (including radiative properties of clouds)
Ice nuclei and cloud condensation nuclei
Cloud and precipitation chemistry
Measurement techniques of cloud and precipitation properties
Applications of cloud and precipitation physics

A short abstract (maximum of 250 words, deadline December 20th, 2011) will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee to decide upon relevance and scientific merit of the topic. Upon acceptance of the short abstract, an extended abstract will be asked for to be included in the Conference Proceedings. A submission fee of 50 EUR is solicited upon submission of the short abstract. This fee will be considered towards the total registration fee for the conference, but only one fee will be credited per each registered participant, in the event that one registrant submits more than one paper. If the abstract is not accepted, this fee will be refunded.
